Placement of the built-in caption on a bitmap

I discovered that I can double-click on a bitmap image and get a box in which
to write a label for the image. This is useful to me, and the only trouble is
that I'd like the label to be at the top of the image, but it appears at the
bottom. Clicking the usual menus and properties, I couldn't find a way to
change the location. Can this be done?

Use the Text Block tool. There is a down arrow next to the text tool (The A
in the toolbar). Click the down arrow and you will see the Text Block Tool
(An A with an arrow circling it).

With the Text Block tool you can drag the text to where you want it.
