Placing a Shape Inside of Another Shape

J

Jeff

Hi There,

I am attempting to place a shape inside of another shape but when I do so
the background shape moves to a new location when I complete the drag. I
have done this many times before and know that I may have to bring the shape
forward or backward depending on the the order in which they fall. But for
some reason when I drag and let go then background shape moves away.

Any idea's?

Thanks

Hi Jeff,

Perhaps you've inadvertently set the plowing behavior?

Have a look under Format > Behavior > Placement Tab.

You'll notice the text "Move other shapes away on drop" next to a drop-down
box.

If you set this to, say "Plow every shape", then other shapes that have this
setting will jump out of the way when you move the shape on top of them.

menu File -> Page Setup
tab Layout and Routing
at the bottom is a tick box for setting moving shapes away on drop and
a button for the spacing for moving shapes.
