Placing Result of Calculated Data in Same Column

In an empty cell enter the 1.25%.
copy that cell
then select the cells you want to multiply.
then use the special paste command
select multiply
and that's it.

If it's periodically, best to record it as a macro, and simply change the
macro to add an input box to get the change percentage.

I have a rate spread sheet that periodically needs values in a column to
be changed by a certain percentage. What is the best way to calculate
data and place the result back in the same cell?

example: Cell C1 has the value of 100. I want to multiply C1 by 1.25
and place the result (125) back into Cell C1.
