Placing shapes so connection points are on grid

I purchased third party shapes. They seem to be drawn with a grid, yet when
placing them I can't get the connections points to fall on grid. When placing
components is there an easy way to get the connections points to fall on grid.

Did you check "Snap to grid" on ?

Snap to Grid seems to snap the outline to grid, not the connection points.

There are several possibilities. Is this a case of metric vs US units?
Second, is your grid based on typical US units (1/8, 1/4, etc.) vs 1/10th?
