Plain Text Replies?

R

Rick

Greetings! Just installed Outlook 2003 and it is
awesome!! Great new features, especially the Junk Mail
Filter! However, I can't figure out how to specify to use
plain text when replying to an email message??? When I
reply to an HTML email, the settings from my "old"
Outlook 2002 (which specified a font) is used. I have
tried looking in the Options everywhere! Any ideas,
comments, suggestions?? Thanks!

God Bless!

Outlook replies in the format the message was sent on - you'll need to
either convert all html to plaintext (tools, options, email options, read
in plain text) or convert replies to plain text as you compose.

If you choose the read in plain text option, you can convert individual
messages to html by clicking in the infobar.

Are you having a laugh? "Awesome" is about the furthest from the
Outlook 2003 experience as you could go.

When you reply to an email Outlook uses the original email message
format to compose the reply *whatever* choice you set in the options.
Outlook just ignores your own settings and says "do as I say, not what
you want".

The workaround is that if you view ALL messages in plain text format
you will always reply in plain text format.
(Note: If you convert a html format reply to plain text format it is
not the same.)

Wish there was another option for Exchange server email clients :-(

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

No, it says, "Be polite and do as the original sender wants you to do."
Please who send you a message in a certain format often do so because they
want that format. For example, I send all my messages in plain text and
reject all replies not in that format. If I wanted my mailbox filled with
HTML crap, I'd send HTML messages.

My brain and fingers obviously disconnected. I meant to type "Those who
send..."
