plan a meeting

i want to send notification emails one week prior to
recurring appointment. Plan a meeting is not offered in the
Actions drop down window. How do I get that as an option?

If this is an appointment that is scheduled on their calendar too, why not
just set a reminder to fire 7 days prior?
