Playing Media in PowerPoint

I know I've done something really stupid I just don't know what. For some
reason my computer has lost the ability to play any media files, specifically
mp3's and wmv's. I've copied the folder with all it's files to a couple of
other machines and everything works fine. I've tried to reinsert to no
avail. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

More than likely you installed some media software that made changes to your
system. The quickest fix is to download and re-instll Windwos Media Player.
Works 95% of the time.

Mr. Myers,
Thank you for your help. I did what you suggested and assume it's the
reason I can see my media files again. Another question though. I'm
curious, would the length of a file name effect whether it's played(seen by
WMP) or not?
Thanks again,

Well I'd say that's one in a row. <g>

Depends. Do you mean the Windows Media Player application or do you mean
the Windows Media Player control when placed on a slide?

I had a file with about 12 letters.mp3 that wouldn't play and out of
frustration and thinking of nothing else I renamed it 123.mp3 and it play
nicely. Weird.
