Playing MP3 files embeded in Excel

I'm using Insert | Object | From File to insert an MP3 file into an Excel
2003 worksheet. I don't link to the original file (so I'm embedding it) and
I change the icon from the default. Excel shows the icon correctly and
allows me to play the file in Windows Media Player v10 successfully by
double-clicking on the icon.

But if I wait for the MP3 to finish playing and then double-click on another
embeded MP3 file in the same worksheet, Windows Media Player says "Windows
Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer,
verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify
that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be
available.". And it will not play the second MP3.

The pathname it's trying to reach to play this second MP3 is in ...\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\61GBMPI1. If I open this
folder I can see a file that looks as if it might correspond to the first
MP3 (it has a name that is variant of the first MP3 file name) but no
equivalent file for the second MP3 which presumably explains why WMP throws
up the error. But I don't understand how and why these files are created and
hence don't understand why the second MP3 is missing.

However if I play the first MP3successfully and then close WMP before
double-clicking on the second MP3 icon, the second one is played
successfully.

Can anyone spot why I get this error message when I don't close WMP before
playing the second MP3 please and what I can do to avoid having to shut WMP
after playing the first MP3?

My PC uses Win XP Professional and Internet Explorer 6.

Many thanks for any insights you have.

Kevin
