playing sounds again after the slide has been viewed

i have a problem where if i play a slide the animation and sound works fine.
but if i go to the next slide and then skip back to the previous slide the
sound will not play again. i want the sound to play again even if the slide
has been viewed before... i also want any animations to happen and buttons to
work even if the slide has already been viewed... is this possible?

When you go back to a slide by clicking on a link, PowerPoint will remember
that the animation has been played and not repeat it again.

One way is to add a dummy slide before the actual slide with animations.
Have the dummy slide set to Advance automatically after 00:00 in the Slide
Transition, then hyperlink to the dummy slide instead.

Another way is to reset the builds. Check the solution (Sample Code to Reset
the
Builds on a Slide) at:

the blank dummy slide works great but i was wondering if there was a quick
way to set all my back buttons to go back 3 pages so that they land on the
dummy slide. before i had a master slide with a back button that was set to
go to previous slide, now ofcourse if i just go to previous slide i will end
up going to the dummy slide that is just before the current slide (and end up
back on the current slide). there isnt a setting for the buttons to go back 3
slides so it looks like i will have to have a seperate button on each slide
that is set to go back to the specific slide i want. this could take some
time.. just hoping you might know of a quicker option. (hope that made sense)

Hi In my presentation i added blank slides inbetween each animated slide so
that if i went back to a slide that i had already played it would play again.
this worked great, however i am now putting my presentation onto a mac and
the blank slides no longer work in the right way, if i press back now the
presentation will just sit on the blank slide and not move off instead of
playing the previous slide. does this mean that mac powerpoint doesnt support
the blank slide idea or has something gone wrong when i swapped it into
mac???
