Please Help Cannot open any database with access 2003

Hi,

This problem is driving me mad, please help!!!!!!!

I have installed access 2003 each time I try to open a database (including
the sample database northwind) or open a new database I get the following
message:-

"Microsoft office has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience."

I am not connected to a network. I need to open a database that I am using
for a web page. I can't understand why I would be getting these problems? I
have just installed the product as normal you would think it would at least
read the sample databases?????

Any help please!!!!!!!!!!!

If you get this error message when trying to open any .mdb file, I can only
think that Access 2003 has been corrupted somehow - your best bet would
probably be to uninstall Access 2003 and try installing it from scratch
again...
