Please help - click in query criteria and hourglass, access does not respond

We recently upgraded to 2010 from 2003. Now, when we edit a query that
has a linked crosstab and click in the criteria section to make a
change, we get an hourglass and access or all intents freezes up and
we have to "end it".

This did not happen in 2003. Any ideas why this is happening.
