PLEASE HELP!!! Enterprise Field not showing up in "task" view in PWA ????

All,

Hi, I have run across a situation that is very baffling. I added a custom
enterprise text field named "proj no", basically a numeric code for projects
that get rolled up in my project plan. I added this field to the "tasks
tracking" view and the "project tasks tracking" view. Both fields show up in
PWA, but only the "project tasks tracking" view gets populated. My team
really needs the one to show up in tasks tracking view since our plan has 2k
plus tasks. I have also installed the latest service pack to the server.

Screen shots here:

view)

Thoughts?

Thx,

Paul Schaefer

To get the custom text field to show up in the View My Tasks page, you need
to republish the assignments in each project by clicking Collaborate -
Publish - Republish Assignments. Hope this helps.

Dale, we tried that and we also tried republish all, built the OLAP, and
even removed the plan and put it back on server. Still the same result. For
some reason that field refuses to show up in the task tracking view. Do you
think it might be something with that view?

Thx,

Paul

Looking at the Screen Images on the URL's provided you are looking at the My
Tasks and Projects pages in PWA.

I think that the reason you see the custom value in the Projects view may be
that this view uses Project Fields. I am not sure if the "View My Tasks"
page is using "Assignment" or "Task" values - there is a subtle difference.
Project Server & Project Professional offer you the chance for Enterprise
custom fields for Tasks, Resources and Projects but sadly not for
assignments.

Paul:

You missed one small step in getting these to the tasks page.

Have each project manager open their plans and go to Tools > Customize >
Published fields, and add the field to their set of published fields, then
republish all the assignments.
