Actually I am having this problem with both excel and word. I am running
xp pro and office xp pro.
When I open up either excel or word I am unable to do anything. The
buttons on the toolbars are greyed out and I can't type anything on the
sheets. Excel says the sheet is protected and it needs to be
unprotected. First, how can it be protected if I haven't done anything
or protected it in the first place? Second, I am familiar with
unprotecting sheets and workbooks, but those options are also greyed
out and can' t be selected.
Any ideas what could be causing this, and how I can fix it?
