Have you tried using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel?.. Office would
have warned you that your trial period was coming to an end.. you will have
to purchase a version of Office or download something like OpenOffice if you
want continued use of a half decent word processor..

It was a trial version with a time limit. The time has run out. Now it's
time to pay for the program. If all you need is Word, then you can find that
program for about $100. I've seen Works Suite 2003, which includes Word
2002, for less that $100. If you need the other Office programs, it's going
to cost you more than $100 to stay with Microsoft programs.

When you uninstall MO2003 you will lose Word, you know that right?

My comp was bought years ago with the full ofice 2000 :| Except Publisher.

All i want to do now, is uninstall 2003, install 2000

It would have been easier to either order the trial CD for Publisher or just
buy Publisher.

Fine, but that doesn't answer the question.

To the original poster:
Go to Start|Control Panel|Add Remove Programs. Look down the list until you
find Microsoft Office 2003 -- it may say Trial or something also. Click the
Remove button to begin the uninstall, and then follow the prompts to remove
all the programs.

After that, reboot. Then get out your Office 2000 CD(s), put it in the
drive, and follow the prompts to install Office.

True, but I saw that several others were offering her help and I thought
since she specifically wanted Publisher, that I could at least offer her
some help in that area.

Kind of rough to go thru all of that when all you want is one program, huh?

Uh oh.

You'll find it, it's around somewhere...look in the bottom drawer to your

So you are SURE there is no other solution.

Doesnt matter anyway :) Did work on wordpad, how low.
Ill work on reinstalling word later in a day or 2.

I had this box with all computer cd's but does'nt seem to
have a word/MO cd.

Is there any other way of reinstalling the FULL version,
MO2000, which i had before since i really need word.

Even a new 30 day trial on word would be good, in the meantime
whille i look.

Why doesnt it let me type , maybe since the period for trial
has ended? How do i KEEP using it for just maybe a week? :S

You can't. Expired means expired, not "pretty much over but not quite".

You need the disks, plain and simple. This is why it is critical to store
your CDs in a logical place. And to keep your product keys with the CD. (I'm
not chastising, I'm hoping to make a point for others who aren't real
careful about their disk storage.)

How can you install software WITHOUT any software installation media?.. use
your common sense..

Re. the TIME LIMITED trial version of MO 2003.. if the 60 day limit was to
be extended to 90 days for instance, it would then be a 90 day trial, not a
60 day with 30 days grace.. again, use your common sense here..

It is just possible that you have MS Word 2000 on one of your recovery
CD's.. however, you may have to wipe everything clean and start from
scratch..

It may also be possible to recover specific elements from the recovery CDs
without having to clean install.. of course, this process would essentially
mean that you would have to run the recovery process, and with your luck
running the way that it is, you would most likely end up with nothing at
all..

You might want to contact the computer vendor and ask what your options are
re. getting pre-installed Word 2000 back..

In the meantime you have learned an important lesson.. DO NOT EVER upgrade a
full working package with a trial or beta version UNLESS you know exactly
the whereabouts and integrity of the original installation media..

I doubt another 30 trial will work either. You're gonna have to find the
Office 2000 CD.
