Please help with updates!!!

Hi there,

It's my first experience with MS Office 2007 and I'm a bit confused with its
new update "policy".

I am used to Office 2003 and the things are simple there. I mean, I used the
Russian version of Office and, to update it, I simply had to download and
install the service pack for the Russian version (...-fullfile-rus.exe). But
I have recently switched to MSO 2007 where the update system works
differently. Now, one can select and install the desired language pack
without purchasing a completely new language edition of MSO through the
Language Parameters option in MSO Menu.

I have just installed MS Office 2007 (English) and a separate language pack
for Russian. But I am a bit confused now because I don't know which SP1 to
install - the English or the Russian one. The reason is I can change the
language through the Language Parameters option of MSO Menu and, if 5 min ago
MSO was in English, now I can easily convert it into Russian.

I also don't know what is the difference between MSO 2007 SP1 and Language
Pack SP1. Do I still need to install the latter if I have already installed
MSO 2007 SP1???

Also, shall I switch back to Russian menu through the Language Parameters,
if I want to install the Russian SP1?

Thank you very much in advance!!!

You have English language Office with Russian Language Pack installed. If
you go to the Office Update site or Microsoft Update, it should recognize
this and give you SP1 for English Office plus any updates you need for the
Russian Language Pack. If you try to install Russian SP1 this may cause
problems.

Congratulations on the Russian entry winning Eurovision 2008!
