Please help: Word not Saving files

Office XP 2002

Word is not saving files.

(1) Niether File Save As or Save are doing working.
(2) On Closing a file there is a prompt to save changes. But nothing happens
when I select save changes. If I re-try to close same message.
(3) On exiting word files the prompt to save comes up but nothing happens.

There are no macros running.

Any ideas. This all worked yesterday - no changes made and viola - problems.
I am running Norton Ant-Virus and it comes up clean. My Office install disk
are miles away...

Any help would be greatly appeciated.

Thanks,
Peter

The problem was solved by renaming my most recently modified "normal.dot"
file.

This problem was reported by Greg at almost the same time. Is there a virus
out there?

Actually, NAV is almost certainly the problem. Open NAV and disable the
office plug-in option.
