There is just no information out there on how to create a document with
numbered paragraph headings similar to what MSWord does with Outline
Numbering for Heading 1, Heading 2, etc. I know there must be a way. Can
someone PLEASE point me in the right direction?

Can you be more specific?

What do you want to do? In what setting?

What do you want the appearance to look like?

From the information that you have given I don't have a clear idea of
precisely what you want to create.
