I receive this error message any time I try to open a program in the suite.

Then the software tries to access this path to get Proplus.ini

\\itechdell\public\Computer LAB Programs\Office XPfp

I have to cancel, there'se a pause, then the program opens, but not the doc.

My software was installed by my (former) org's IT folks. Thus it is part of
a license or something and not eligible for MS tech support.

1) I don't have the disks. Am I going to have to live with this?

2) Can I install MS Office 2000 over this? That is, uninstall, then install
what I have? Is it XP Pro compatible? Don't want to lose what functionality
I have.

Not only is it not eligible for MS tech support, it may be illegal - but
that's not the issue.

Dumping Office 2000 on top ain't gonna fix it. All that's going to do is
screw things up even more. If you have the Office 2000 CDs and product keys,
back up any critical files, uninstall Office XP, and then install Office
2000.

Has the software ever worked? Have you changed something recently?

Here is the ABSOLUTELY GARUNTEED Solution to this problem:
1. Un-Install the complete Microsoft Office
2. Use CCleaner to clean up the mess Microsoft is too lazy t
un-install. Clean Files, System and Registry with CCleaner.
3. Go Here: www.OpenOffice.org
4. Download and Install the latest version of OpenOffice for FRE
(don't let this fool you it is just as full-featured as Microsof
Office without all the BLOAT).
5. Repackage and sell Microsoft Office on E-Bay
6. Use the proceeds of the sale to make a donation to OpenOffice.or
(You WILL want to do this because of the no-worries product you no
have in place of Microsoft Office.
7. Write a nasty letter to Microsoft and tell them to shove thei
products up their NOSE but do not tell the the replacement you hav
found - They will try to BUY it!
8. Keep your new office apps updated because they are being improve
monthly and there is never a cost to you.
9. Smile - Don't worry, Be Happ
