When I access a Windows SharePoint Services site (either on my intranet, or
on the Internet, like the FAQ site at www.collutions.com), my IE pops up a
dialog that says "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2000
Premium" quickly followed by a dialog that says "Error 1706. No valid source
could be found for product Microsoft Office 2000 Premium. The Windows
installer cannot continue."
This is unusual because 1) I'm using Office XP, not 2000 (although I did
upgrade from 2000), and 2) I don't seem to be missing any functionality.
Unfortunately, I don't know what Office service is trying to be configured.
Does anyone know how to figure out what Office wants, why it wants it from
Office 2000, and how to fix this in SharePoint Services (or is it IE)?
