Plotting two series against each other

For Physics, I need to plot one set of data vs. another. I tried making two
columns, the first column had the values I wanted as the x axis. The second
column I put the values I wanted to be plotted as the y axis. The problem is
that when it makes a graph, it plots it as two lines. How do I make one set
of values be the x axis and one set the y axis so I get one line from two
sets of values.

Select the two columns, Insert/ Chart ... and choose X-Y (scatter) graph.
This "scatter" naming continues to confuse new users, as this is what you
use to produce a *line* graph of Y against X.
