Pls assess Outlook sharing plan

Hello

I work in a small office where 5 people share a computer at different
times. We have just upgraded to WinXP and Office Pro 2003. I have
never tried implementing personal desktops before because it was too
messy. Now I want to have indvidual desktops and will be using Shared
Documents folder a lot

This is my plan for sharing the office calender which is in Outlook
..... I went to http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm and did
various searches and want to make sure that it will work ...

I will import the backed up Outlook file from the old version into one
of the users.
I will switch users and move the Outlook data file for that user to a
folder in the All Users Docs & Settings.
I will remove all the Outlook .pst files for all users, then open
Outlook for all of them and when it asks me for the whereabouts of the
..pst I will point them to where I have put it. Then all users will
also have the same Contacts, Calendar and Tasks lists. If they want
their own .pst they can create it for themselves once the central
calendar is set up. No two people are ever logged on at the same time.

Could someone please assess whether I have the logic set up correctly?
I just don't want to do it and then find that I have messed something
up.

Many thanks in advance

That sounds like it should work, but I have a couple of suggestions: 1)
Don't import for the first one. If you're going to use that one as a base
line, just move that PST to the Shared Docuements area and then start
Outlook, just like you'll do for the rest. When it complains, browse to the
moved PST, select it, and click OK.

2) Make sure you exit Outlook prior to switching users. In fact, I'd log
out instead of using Fast User Switching.

3) Don't delete the old PST. Put them in the individuals' Windows profile
and let them open them if they want.

Thanks for your reply - it was very helpful and I used it to set up a
good system - we are all sharing the calendar in shared docs and have
our own calendars etc if we need them.
