PM's are NOT getting the updates that the Resources....

...... Resources are making to their tasks.
Also when I complete a task to 100% it says an email is being sent to the
owner of the project. BUT no emails are ever received.
Seems to be a connection problem between Project Server & Project.

Any ideas on this issue??

Thanks,
Gary

Hi,
YES, other email notifications are working. Just the notifications about the
tasks being updated and/or completed are not.

Hmmm. Can you confirm that the known owner of the project(s) has
received e-mail from Project Server? If no, then can you confirm that
his e-mail address is set correctly for his ID?If yes, has this project
ever had an Owner change? If yes, then it is possible that the Owner
was changed on the project, but the second action (the new owner opens
the project, then selects Republish Assignments, the select Become the
manager for these assignments). These are just a couple ideas. Not
sure whether they are on track without more information.

Hi,
Thanks for thinking through this with me.
Yes, they have gotten other emails from Project Server.
Yes the project owner was changed, but even before the project owner changed
the person who was the wrong owner, never got any emails either.
If you are a PM and a task of yours gets completed, do you get emails?
The main issue is that all 5 projects are not getting updated with any
changes by resources. A PM has some tasks assigned to themselves and they
went in and changed a few tasks to 100% complete, but when they go check
their project no changes show up. When we put the cursor over the "check
mark" on the left of the task page, it says an email has been sent etc....
Somehow I must not have something turned on that allows Project Server to
notify Project. I guess??????
Thanks Gary

Hi,
One other thing. My resources permissions are limited to only allowing 2
items in their category permission table. I have only allowed - See Projects
in Project Center & See Projects in Project Views. These folks have the "Team
Member" security access that I have heavily restricted. Maybe I have
restricted their category permissions too much. Are there any other
permissions that I should be allowing to deal with the problem we are working
on?
Thanks,
Gary

Hi,

If nothing changes from Default, yes the PM (Owner) does receive e-mail
notifcations when team members update tasks. Can you confirm whether
any Team Member Updates appear on the PWA Updates page? As far as the
PM's showing that the Tasks are at 100%, that will not occur until the
Update has been accepted by the Owner from the Updates page (note that
it will then want to sync to the Microsoft Project Pro client plan). On
a different path, have you restricted the Group Team Member under the
Global Permissions area?

Actually, it seems unlikely that Permissions are the issue. I noticed
that you had another thread going with Dale Howard on this same topic.
He also left you with the question about using the Updates page in PWA.
Just to be sure... Open PWA then select Updates from the Main (dark
blue) navigation bar or the Updates in the body of the PWA Home Page.
There is a table that normally shows time that has been entered for
projects where you are the Owner. You must select the Accept (or Accept
All) options, then select the Update button on the top-right of the
page for any entries to show up in Views. For the process to be
complete you will need to update and save your Project Pro plan, as
well.

Let us know

Hi,
Yes I did put another post out there as I was desperate to find out the issue.
Both of you folks have been extremely helpful and we testing the changes you
requested and will let you know the outcome.
Many thanks for your time.
