POP stops working after awhile, causing a re-setup

(Running an exchange account, and a POP account)

Every so often, my one POP account stops being able to retreive mail from
the POP server. I have discovered that if I remove the account, and then add
it back in, it is finally able to get mail again from the POP server.
However this still continues to happen every 2 - 3 weeks.

Anyone have any thoughts as to why I keep getting POP failures over time?

Are your Exchange account and POP account in different profiles? If not,
try it in different profiles as having both in the same profile is not a
good idea.

Both account types in the same profile should not be a problem in Outlook
2002 and later - I've been running in that mode since well before we
released Outlook 2002.

Justin, do you get any error messages when Outlook stops receiving POP3
mail? What are the symptoms?

Jeff,

I have since deleted the account, and re-added it again and don't remember
the exact error message. I have made a couple of changes, and we will see
how they work.

I have entered in a username and password for server authentication, and ran
a test to see if it works and it did. Thanks for the attention, and I will
get the exact error messege next time. I don't remember the error message
being much help, otherwise I would have solved this a long time agao when it
first started happenig. When it first started happening, I chaulked it up as
a ISP issue, and kept deleting and adding all the time.

Talk soon I am sure.

Thanks again.
