Pop Up Window

Help (from a rather non-computer literate person!).

I have created a website using Frontpage 2003 and on several pages I have
created pop-ups using Format/Behaviors/Insert/Popup.

I'm now trying to delete these popups from a couple of pages, yet despite
either clicking on Delete in the Design frame or editing out the commands in
the Code frame, when saving the changes the popup remains.

Please can anyone advise (in not too technical terms!) what I am doing wrong.

Many thanks.

What happens when you have the Behaviors task pane opened and select the
PopUp and then click on the Delete button above (right next to the Insert
button)?

Hi Rob:

After I press the delete button the pop up is removed. However, when I then
click on the button to save the changes (prior to uploading again), the
'removal' is not saved and the pop up remains.

Same happens if I remove the pop up html code. It deletes, but after
clicking on save changes, the changes are not in fact not saved and the pop
up remains.

Apologies if the above seems a bit garbled, I'm not very technical!

Nigel.

Where is this happening...in Preview in Browser? If so refresh your browser
(F5)

What do you mean "clicking on save changes" - where do you see that? Or do
you merely mean you are saving the page?

Post the URL for the problem page for the folks here to take a look at the
prob.

Rob:

Thanks for your continued help.

The problem is when trying to edit in either in the Design or the Code page.
I can edit either to remove the pop up, but when saving the revised page (a
simple 'Save') these changes, are in effect not saved and the pop up remains.

Nigel.

Man, I just cannot duplicate this...when I delete it it's gone. You're not
talking about the yellow popup warning bar you get in IE are you - 'cause
that your are gonna see if you preview in browser?

Hi Rob:

Very strange isn't it! When I delete the pop up it goes, but after saving
the change it re appears!

Not sure what to do next.

Nigel.

Try deleting the pop-up, then changing something else on the page
(example change a word to all caps), then saving. If the "something
else" remains changed, then that eliminates a possible cache problem.
Post back here with the results.

Hi Nigel,
it's a little bit OT, but if you're interested in "rolling your own" here's
a great article about writing a good pop-up:

Another suggestion, to use the spawn addin on www.jimcosoftware.com. If you
don't want the popup, you need to delete the relevant code manually, but
that doesn't sound like a problem for you.

maybe there's something else googy on the page...try doing a popup on a
blank page and see if you can delete it.

| The simple solution would be to delete the two pages with the
non-removable
| pop ups and recreate them. But it really bugs me why this is happening!
