O
OutOfTheLoop
Okay. I give up. I've been living with this for quite a while in Office
2002 Premium. I finally installed Professional Edition 2003 and the problem
is still here.
When I set up a pop account, I set the incoming server as
pop.mytown.myisp.net. I do the same for the outgoing server. I enter my
user name as myusername. Everything works fine.
About 80% of the time, mail retrieval hangs for a long time and then errors
out with cannot contact server. When I go back to edit an account, the
incoming mail server has changed to localhost and my user name has changed to
myusername/pop/mytown/myisp.net. If I change them back to the way I set them
up, everything runs fine until I close Outlook. Then I am back to the 20%
chance of success.
I haven't been able to find anything on this so any help will be greatly
appreciated.
