Populating a form from a single Web Service value in InfoPath 2003

When I connect to the web service and design a form
the datafield returned is a single string.

When I perform a query the value returned looks like
serialized XML. How do I get this to populate multiple
fields in my form?

I have been provided the Schema for this database
but I do not have the option of installing a method
on the server side.
