I'm looking for a better way to manage my office & home Outlook
calendaring.
I'd like to have personal calender items in the .pst on my home PC
(Outlook 2002), and both office and personal calendar items in the
calendar of my office PC (Outlook 2000, I think), with popup reminders
working on each PC for those items. Alternatively, I'd be just as
happy to have the same calendar at both home and office. I want popup
reminders to work on the home PC for at least personal calendar items
and on the office PC for both personal & office calendar items.
The office PC is tied to an Exchange server, and the home PC isn't
(and doesn't have access into the office network). I assume the
office PC's calendar has to remain in the primary .pst file on the
office PC because of it's tie to the Exchange server. FWIW, it would
be inconvenient to have to move this entire 0.2 to 0.5 GB .pst file
between PC's every time I switch PC's, though it wouldn't be so bad to
have a small secondary .pst that I have to copy back & forth.
Any good solutions out there?
One solution I ran across is a tool that does calendar sync-ing via
email called Calendar4Outlook, but I don't know if that works both
ways and I'm not too thrilled about emailing office apmt info to my
home PC outside the firewalls, or about having high volumes of emails
going back & forth, and don't know if calendar item updates would work
both in both directions.
Another possible solution I saw is a Slovak Tech. tool called Reminder
Manager which seems to allow popup reminders of secondary .pst files,
though the calender views would remain separate. I'd have to copy my
home .pst back & forth every time I changed PC's, though, and I
wouldn't be able to have a single view of all calendar items at the
office -- I'd have to look in the 2nd .pst's calendar.
