port 2492

Running Groove 2007 on Vista Business. Under Windows Firewall Settings -
Exceptions, Microsoft Office Groove is listed and checked. Does this setting
actually open port 2492 or do I have to manually setup another exception
specifically opening up port 2492 for TCP traffic? Thanks.

Hi,
It may. It depends on how you set up Groove as an exception. When you open
up your Windows Firewall, look under your exceptions and see if the ports
that are allowed are ANY.

Microsoft Office Groove is setup under Exceptions as a Program, not a Port.
In other words, when you look at the properties of the Groove (Program)
Exception, it does not mention anything about ports. I know I can add an
exception specifically for Port 2492, but is that redundant if the Program
Exception for Groove already opens up that Port. Does that make sense?
