Port 25 outlook 2000

using outlook on XP. does it get it protocal ports from the PROTOCOL file?
want to put a program between the sending SMTP server and outlook.
I have this working on Exchange.

Neo's correct. The port information is kept in the account settings, which
are in the registry (under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles).

I don't understand the question. Outlook has no awareness of firewalls. It
can either make the connection or it can't. The question should be how the
firewall deals with Outlook.
