Port conflict between AOL & ATT

Several weeks ago I downloaded one of the MS patches and
it corrupted my computer to the point that I had to re-
install the entire system. Prior to this occurring I was
able to connect to the internet via my ATT account and my
husband could as well with his AOL account. Since the
reload, I have not been able to connect to my att
account. It seems as though AOL has taken hostage of my
computer's port and won't allow ATT access!!! I've
called AOL and ATT support desks several times and they
can't help and just blame each other for propriatary
software. Any suggestion on how I can get my ATT account
to work? Thanks!
