Portal and Project Server

Hi we are in the process of improving our Project Server installation.
Planning to scale-out and move SQL Db to another server.

I don't know if this is the correct forum for my questions but I hope
someone here can enlighten me...

Question:

1) Would you recommend Project Server and Sharepoint Portal Server in one
server?
2) What are the benefits of using Project Server and Windows Sharepoint
with Sharepoint Portal?
3) Will it benefit our company even if there's just 50 users?
4) What are the limitations if we stick to Windows Sharepoint Services? (if
we just remove Sharepoint Portal)
