Portfolio Server 2007 - Configuration manual

C

Carla

Hi everyone,

I've just created a lab environment with Project Server 2007, SQL
Server 2005 and Portfolio Server 2007 all of these following the
deployment guide.

Right now I need a good configuration manual to understand how can I
configure the Portfolio server to get information from Project Server.

Can anyone advise me for a good manual?

Thanks in advance!

Carla

read to start with...

Please..?

Thanks!

Navigate to the Microsoft Download Center at the following URL:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads

In the Search line, make sure the Search pick list is set to "All Software"
and then enter "Project Portfolio Server 2007" in the Search field, and then
click the Go button. You should find a list of all of the manuals Microsoft
current has available for the software. Hope this helps.

Hi Carla

I have just done a similar exercise, and I found these 2 books the best and
easiest to read.
Microsoft Project Server 2007 - The Complete Reference.
Publisher: Osborne. ISBN: 978-0-07-148599-9

Administrator's Guide to MS Office 2007 Servers.
Publisher: SAMS. ISBN: 978-0-672-32949-9

Hope they help you.

Hi Dale,

That's a very good option in deed! Found a couple new books, maybe
these can help me.. :)

I was expecting to find books from other publishers but it seems like
a very hard task.. :)

Thanks!

Yes and neither of these covers Portfolio Server.

It seems like there are no books fully devoted to Portfolio Server
2007. :(

I have The "Beginnin SharePoint 2007 Administration" and it refers
Portfolio Server 2007 in a single chapter, in a single line, so
sometimes seaching engines can be tricky to find valuable
information. :)

Thanks any way! :)

To the best of my knowledge, no one has written a published book on
Portfolio Server 2007. I think the market for that book is too small. If
you are looking for some great books about Project Server 2007 (shameless
advertising follows), you might purchase one of our company's books at:

http://www.projectserverbooks.com

We wrote the only book ever published on Project Server 2002, the first two
books on Project Server 2003, and the first two books on Project Server
2007. As you might surmise, the Microsoft EPM is our company's "bread and
butter." :) Hope this helps.
