Portrait Printing in Landscape Form

M

Morgan

I have a computer in my office that runs Office 2007. Everytime a co-worker
prints in Word his document prints in landscape. I have checked the settings
and everything is labeled portrait.

When you go into Print Preview it is the same thing. The document is
appearing in portrait form but cuts off the first third or so of the page.
When you change the layout to landscape, everything shows up just fine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I think you'll find that Word's page orientation setting conflicts with the
one in the printer driver software.

In the Print dialog, click the Properties button next to the printer name.
The Properties dialog is different for each printer (it's provided by the
printer driver, not by Word), but somewhere in there you'll find a setting
for the orientation. If it's set to Landscape, change it to Portrait.

I'm not sure this is universal, but it's my experience that settings you
change in the Properties dialog when reached through Word's Print dialog
last only for the current session. To make a permanent change, click the
Windows Start menu > Settings > Printers and Faxes, right-click the printer
and choose Properties, and make the change there.
