Possible to Update Finish Dates Automatically?

I'm not sure this is possible but it has been requested by
several of our project managers. We have Project Pro and
Server 2002 and are in the process of upgrading to 2003.

Desired scenario:

1. A resource updates a task on PWA that indicates that
the task has been completed early (say 2 days early in
this case).

2. The PM accepts the update and updates the project plan.

3. The PM wants all future tasks on the plan to be moved
up automatically so that they start 2 days earlier.

4. Project Server then notifies all subsequent resources
that their tasks will now start 2 days earlier.

Is this possible?

1. Yes. In PWA, the resource(s) assigned to the task must either set the
Remaining Work value to 0 hours, or must enter an Actual Finish date, to
show that the work has been completed early.

2. Once the PM updates the plan, the Duration of the task will be adjusted
according to the Actual Finish date. Assuming that none of the successor
tasks have constraints that would limit their schedule, then Micrsosoft
Project will automatically reschedule every successor task according to the
finish date of the predecessor task.

3. Once the PM has published the project again (Collaborate - Publish - All
Information), then each resource on those successor tasks will see their new
work schedule in PWA.

Hope this helps.
