Post-installation problem when entering text in new or existing do

I just re-installed Word 2002 on computer with Win98. When I try to type into
a new or existing document, the whole line turns black, like black
highlighting. If I hit enter it adds a new black line, then all of a sudden
the black goes away at the top and the letters appear. Any clues as to why it
is doing this?

Sounds like a video driver problem I saw once. Read this article and
tune down your hardware accelerator to see if that gives your video
driver enough power to fix the problem. If so...update your video
driver.

Word needs at least 256 colours: this is the result of using the standard
Windows VGA driver instead of the appropriate graphic card driver.
