Hi,

Can anyone tell me why my recent post was summarily deleted ?. This was a
perfectly legitimate question, appeared on my screen for a split second,
then went immediately !!. I also just saw another (from someone else) go the
same way.

I don't think it was deleted. What newsreader are you using?
Are you asking about the post with subject: "FP2003 slow with large dataset"
If so, the post is still there.

Still shows on my machine.
Are you using Outlook Express as
your news client and accessing
microsoft.public.frontpage.client
via: msnews.microsoft.com ??

Make sure that you are connecting directly to news.microsoft.com to view the
newsgroups. If you aren't, then your news server may be dropping news
headlines as it sees fit. Also, make sure that your newsreader isn't set to
delete read messages. Your previous post is still visible, as are the
responses to it.

Hope this helps,

All,

Many thanks for the responses, only just got back to reading news
successfully.

Yes I was using Outlook Express, and yes I was going via an ISP and
not direct to MS - so thanks for all the help and suggestions.

I have not historically used news a whole lot, but now have a new
reader installed which seems to perform more reliably !!

Oh - and now I can see my original post and replies :)).

Many Thanks all.

G.
