Power Point 2000 Error (media)

I need some help if at all possible... :)

Power Point 2000 will not allow Windows Media files (.wmv) to launch and
play, I
get a error that says "Powerpoint couldn't insert a movie from the selected
file. Either the file is non standard or Quicktime is not installed properly"

I have never had this problem before.
In the insert movie from file box there is no .wmv extension available?
There is .avi .cda .dat .m1v ect ect...but no .wmv ?

Any Help woud be great..
