Power point 2002 folder views, how do you change the default?

I have a user who is unable to change the default folder
view in power point 2002 when inserting a picture. The
default view is thumbnails, which takes a very long time
to populate, and doesn't always display the pictures
properly. The user wishes the default folder view to be
the "details" view.

I use PP 2000, and on my machine its a simple matter of
changing the view once, and from that point forward it
will open with that view. However, on this users machine,
it will not set that preference and continues to open in
thumbnail view. Anybody have any suggestions?
