power point not showing graphics properly

when receiving power point files from other users the check marks are not
displaying properly rather showing some ugly pictures

Go to Format|Replace Fonts. If there's a ? in front of anything, that font
is missing, which is probably causing the issue you're seeing. Hard to tell
without more info, though. For instance, where are the checkmarks? Remember,
we can't see what you see there....
