I've created a slide program with an audio narration.I went to Rehearse
Timings and qued the slides to the text, and everything seemed to be
allright, however when I went to play the slide show back it was out of
synch, the slides started coming in before they were supposed to. I redid
this prgram quite a few times and always with the same results. I thought it
might be the format the audio was recorded in< and did the audio in both WAV
& AIFF formats but it made no difference
What am I doing wrong, can this problem be corrected?

You're not doing anything wrong, really. PowerPoint just doesn't do a good
job of maintaining consistent timing, so you can't reliably synch slide
changes to an audio track.

Usually, the trick is to break the narration up into a series of files, one
per slide, and use the narration audio for each slide as the slide's
transition sound.
