Power Point speed of fade

I am trying to slow down the fade-in of slides in a presentation. I've
selected slow (from the options of slow, medium, fast), but the slide still
appears WAY too fast. I have access to Power Point 2003, as well as 2007.
Is there any way to make the slide fade in more slowly?

The 'slide' transition of "fade smoothly" has only the presets of slow,
medium and fast.

However, the "custom animation" of objects (text and boxes etc) on your
slides has the effect called "fade". This has 5 presets timings - very slow
etc, also you can enter your own times in. eg. 10 seconds.

If you were to group all your objects on one slide, you can set them all to
a (custom animation) very slow fade. That might just be what you need
