Power point timings

I am relatively new to PPT. I have created a slide show of
photographs with music . I simply attached a sound file to the first
slide and tol it to stop playing after the last slide. I wanted the
photos in the second to last slide to come in on a certain beat, so i
adjusted there timing accordingly. The problem that i have is that
evertime I play the slide show it is as if the music itself has
chenged and the slide timeings are suddenly off. i first noticed this
when i went from viewing the show from the small screen to full
screen. now i notice it no matter where I view it consecutively. i am
literally going mad because i can find no consistancy here. Please
help. what am i doing wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong. You are not going mad.

Powerpoint is notoriously difficult to get it to display things in time to
music (read - not possible!)

The first time something plays through it tends to get "cached". So the next
time it plays it quicker/smoother. So if you are trying to time
something...best to time it the 2nd play through as that's more consistent

Thanks TAJ,
If my pictures are too large can they create a greater lag time when
the slide show is first played. i was thinking that i should go and
reduce their size. I think I have some close to a MB.
