Powerful desktop hardware configuration for Excel 2007

I'd like to hear from other Excel power users, what type of system setup
works best for them.

I have a spreadsheet, connected to an oracle database, running multiple
functions and formulas. On a 2Ghz dual core, 2GB ram machine, the file takes
16 minutes to open. ON a 2.8 Ghz dual core, 2gb machine, it takes over 21
minutes. the 2.8 Ghz machine has more level 2 cache, a faster FSB, dual
channel RAM ect....basically looks to be a more robust machine. Yet it takes
longer to open the same file. The file is located in a shared network folder,
the computers were running on the same switch, connected to a 1Gb ethernet
network.

What machines do you have that give the greatist performance for Excel 2007?
