PowerPoint 2002, 2003 mouse disappears in presenter view mode after hitting black screen button

When using PowerPoint 2002 or 2003 and showing a slide on two monitors
using Presenter View mode, the mouse cursor will disappear when the
following steps are followed...

1) open a slideshow in presenter view
2) press the 'black screen' button
3) move the mouse off the primary monitor then back again
4) press 'resume show' button
4) press the 'black screen' button again

bingo no mouse... if you don't move the mouse and click again you will
see that the cursor is actually in the same place but you cannot see it

How do I fix this?
