Powerpoint 2002 crash when resizing an image

When resizing a jpeg or other image inserted into a slide, the computer
sometimes freezes and needs to be turned off through the power button. I had
this problem in the past and I think I was told it was related to the ATI
Radeon 9000 graphics card. I think I was told to download a driver. I
simply can't remember. This problem has resurfaced because I recently
formatted a new hard drive.
Is anyone familiar with this problem?

Mike,

Download and install the latest driver for your ati graphics card and
version of windows.

That should make the problem go away.

failing that try turning down the hardware acceleration

When I finally was able to find the driver (on Dell's website), it seemed to
have solved the problem. I was unable to find the driver on the ATI website,
which I found frustrating.
