Powerpoint 2003 and Backgrounds / picture issues

Sjocan

When I open a PPT or create a new one I cannot see the background or pictures
on the "normal page" for editing the slide. I'm only able (and perfectly) to
see them during slide show or slide sorter screen.

To be able to edit the slide normally (seeing all) I need to perform a work
arround and disable DirectDraw and DirectX accelerations, but than other
programs are failing to work properly.

Can anyone help me, thanks.
FYI: I'm using Windows XP and Office2003 SP1 and for both installed all
recommended updates

And updating your "graphics card" drivers for your version of windows.

And perhaps (at your own risk) updating DirectX
