Powerpoint 2003 crashes on save

Jerry

I'm hoping someone can assist me. I have Office 2003 Professional on my work
laptop and its up to date and current. I have a strange problem in that
every time I save a powerpoint presentation the program immediately crashes
as soon as I hit either save as or save. The response is "Microsoft Office
PowerPoint has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience.
The error signature reads :
AppName: powerpnt.exe App ver 11.0.8227.0 AppStamp: 486d6096
ModName: ixodma32.dll ModVer: 5.1.2003.628 ModStamp: 3efe39e4
fDebug:0 Offset: 0015473

I've tried the detect and repair option under the power point help menu
which ran but did not fix the issue. I also went into add/remove programs and
chose Office repair which also ran fine but did not fix the issue. I'm
thinking maybe this ixodma32.dll may be corrupted? Can anyone help? Note
this is a chronic issue (can duplicate every single attempt) and not an
intermittent one. All other Office apps work just fine.

Really weired...
You can try to uninstall office suite, clean you system using some
software and then install office suite again. If it doesn't work, the
only alternative is to reinstall your OS.
Plus, you can try to Save as...

I think re-installing the OS may be a bit over the top - disabling add-ins
(as Steve suggests) would be simpler ;-)

Thank you all for your input. I just checked and I don't have any powerpoint
2003 add ins installed at all. I just checked my add or remove programs and
see a program IXOS-econ Clents and IXOS-econ Clients Languages. Not sure if
they tie into the whole ixodma issue.

I think I just fixed the issue!! You guys helped point me in the right
direction. When I googled IXOS it appears that it is often used with SAP
GUI. This is a tool I have on my work laptop. So I reinstalled my SAP GUI
application and it in turn re-installed my IXOS client. I rebooted and ran
powerpoint. I tried to save and I got a message "Please wait while IXOS
client is being configured" After a few minutes the box went away and I seem
to be saving fine with no crashes!

Thanks for your assistance gang!
