Powerpoint 2003 incompatible with older versions?

have made a presentation in Powerpoint 2003 (fully updated). The problem is
that I am unable to open this presentation in any older version of
Powerpoint. If i trty that, powerpoint just crashes while trying to open the
file. The only way to open the file in an older version is to save it as
Powerpoint95 but then many functions is altered. What is the problem?
