Powerpoint 2003 throws an error when opening a .ppt 2003 file

Powerpoint throws a "can't read " error when trying to open a owerpoint 2003
file. Saving the file as Powerpoint 97 or 95 format does NOT solve the
problem. Seems the file has a header problem (?) that prevents Powerpoint
recognising it as a powerpoint file (?).

I bet you have norton av, take it back to the store or throw it in the bin
and download a free(non bloatware) antivirus program such as the one from
grisoft
http://www.grisoft.com/

If it was embedded into your computer cause you bought an OEM machine search
for officeav.dll rename it to officeav.bak and restart or you could disable
the protect office files option in the options menu

if all this didnt work then download Office 2003 sp1
