Powerpoint 2003 to 2007 - Misalignment issue solution

If you are using Powerpoint 2007 and open a 2003 version then you may
have faced the issue of misaligned text, table and missing bullets. As
a solution I was suggested to uninstall PP 2007 and install 2003 which
I was sure was an incorrect way to solve this.

After a some Googling tries I found that this is due to a printer
setting but couldn't find which so tried one by one till I found the
culprit. it is mentioned at many places on forums/groups that it has
to do with printer driver but not exactly. eg http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00850.htm

Ok now to solution bit. You need to search and disable the setting
where the printer uses its own "True Type Font”. This option may be
different for different printers but I found this on Xerox WorkCentre
Pro 428 PCL 6 my company uses.

This solution has worked for me for the printer on the should work for
you also. Follow this steps (I hope you use the same/similar printer
as well) :

1. Go to Printers and Faxes. Start -> Settings -> Printers and Faxes
2. Right click on default printer and select Printing Preferences.
3. Go to Graphics tab and uncheck “Use Printer True Type Font” (This
may be Xerox printer specific setting) check box.
4. Reopen the 2003 version ppt and check the alignment.

Hope this helps people who are really really annoyed..

Good luck

this worked for me! ;-) my printer settings are a bit different, but in essence it's the same resolution. i set my printer to 'download fonts' instead of using its resident fonts. this fixed my graphics alignment issue. thanks ashish!
